Yo Peeps!----Jan. 8, 2017
So this week was pretty awesome. We met this guy that's 24 years old (korean age) (koreans think when you are concieved you're 1 years old when youre born, then when the new year hits youre 2, so it's basically all of Koreas birthday on the new year) So his name is Jong Je Young 정제영 and he is so awesome. very ready to recive the gospel. So we plan on teaching him the second lesson this wednesday. So we played a good game of soccer last monday and we plan on going to the zoo today and throw the frisbee around. it'll be fun. There's a big mission schedule change coming up too. and ma boi Elder Jeff (Jeffery R. Holland) is coming on Feb 24. SO STOKED. I have found the trick to missionary work. 1) be an idiot while procelyting just do anything to get attention from people and don't be discouraged when you say non sense speaking the language, you're learning. 2) don't take rejection personally, they reject the message, not the person, which is their bad 3) be bold and loving, the more someone can feel your love, the more bold you can be. 4) pray ALWAYS for guidance to the Lord's elect, His sheep will hear his voice. yeah and that's basically what i've found so far haha. But yeah I gotta go now But I love you all so much!

EYYYYYYYY JAN. 1, 2017
So I have some stories to tell with all the hammered people at new years and then Mckelle that's so awesome!!!!! So story number one that's funny. We were teaching english class and a super hammered guy comes in and says he's a member which i didn't know and then he started talking about tangerines and about tennis and weird stuff. then he started yelling ARE YOU HUNGRY and we hadn't eaten so we said yes and he took us to eat and we told him to stop drinking and come to church and he said that we were his sons and he was father jun and we said ok and we went on our way and he was stumblin and sayin random crap and his wife goes to church and he said he doesn't remeber paying for us or anything. I said my name to him probably around 50 times no joke cause he kept forgetting.
second story. Same night we came back from dinner with the drunk guy and we go back to the church and there was a homeless guy. He didn't have any shoes or gloves and it was SUPER cold outside. He asked for some hot water or coffee and we gave him hot water and he was so happy. He said he had been homeless for 15 years. Soooooo sad. then we put him in front of a heater and gave him gloves my scarf and some shoes and then He was SO happy. we gave him more hot water and then we couldn't keep him in the church so we told him where the nearest homeless shelter was and he left but he was so grateful. It was awesome. I was very happy afterwards. We went to president sonksen's house to have a lesson with an investigator Moses that I talked about earlier and it was so awesome. He reminds me SO much of dad and his teaching style. Very knowledgeable but yet keeps things simple and powerful. My favorite teaching style ever. Then we had amazing pumpkin pie from sister sonksen and it was amazing. We made some good progress with Moses So everything is awesome. Last p day was awesome too. we went to a 먹여탕 which is a Korean bath house and you just straight up go butt naked and jump in these hot tubs and saunas and steam rooms and it was awesome. Only mission in the world that gets to do that. hahaha. I felt the cleanest ive ever felt ever. Then we went to a screen golf place and that was super sick. Today were gonna play soccer. Im stoked!! But yeah that was basically my week. Super rad. I know this church is true peeps. I know it with my whole heart. the truth is woven into my heart. I love you all - elder boren.

HEY BROS! Christmas Day 12-25-16
YOOOOOOOO! It was so awesome to see all of you! So refreshing. It was awesome to see that you are all doing so well. So we had a big 식사 which is like a big feast at the bishops house and it was sooooo good. I haven't had one bad tasting thing here yet. Also doing missionary work during the time of the Savior's birth is so awesome. It's very special. It's super fun to talk to people here cause once you get to know them and stuff it's like you're best friends. Oh yeah I had an old guy kiss my hand the other day. and another old guy held my hand. and I played with the bishops 3 year old kid 안히 (ahn-hee) and he's the cutest kid ever. He speaks my level of Korean so it's great hahaha. But we were really busy at the house mostly this week so we didn't get a lot of procelyting opportunites so I don't really have a lot of things to say. Oh we played basketball with some members aftter the ward Christmas activity and I actually did pretty good suprisingly with my past suckage at basketball. I love you all!!! - Elder Boren

HELLO FROM KOREA FAM-DEC 18, 2016
So I'm in Korea. haha. It's monday at noon right now so that's freakin crazy. But yeah so I don't understand a lot what's going on but I try super hard so I know it'll come eventually. My korean has already gotten better. So my comp is Elder Polley and he's super cool! He's way knowledgable of the scriptures and stuff so it's cool to learn from him. I'm so stoked to be here though it's so crazy and awesome. There are so many foreigners here so it's pretty easy to preach in english but I'm trying my best to use Korean haha. So there a lot of drunk people here. A LOT of drunk people. especially on saturdays. We were procelying and this dude has a beer in his hand and stops and we asked him what makes him happy and he was like I don't know that's why I drink. Then we were like well what do you think about church and he was like "I don't really like church because my parents made me go so I hate church I HATE CHURCH I HATE CHURCH" and yeah he was like screaming he was crazy gone. His sober buddy got him under control thought and then they left. So yeah Korea. But I'm super excited to serve here. The people are sooooooo nice. This old guy at church met me and held my hand cause of that Jong thing and it was so cool haha. So yeah we have some crazy investigators
John - thinks he's smarter than God and he has a better way.
Moses - Homeless guy that lives in a Korean bath house and has a crazy life story.
Johnny and Angel - Both Chinese. about 16 17 years old. both super awesome
Yeah that's it for progressing investigators. But they are all way awesome. I'm so stoked to be here. THE FOOD IS SO AMAZING. Even kimchi i love. so much awesome stuff. I love these peeps. I'm calling on Korean sunday around 2:00Korean time. So Your saturday at 10 PM ish. I'm excited to see you guys! I love all of you and I hope that you all have an awesome christmas. I will for sure! LAST WEEK BOIIIIIII!
I'm so stoked to be in Korea!!!! We watched a talk yesterday that gordon b hinckley gave in Korea and he loved those people so much. I can't wait to love them too and just show them kindness and service and everything! it's gonna be awesome! I just wanted to say that I am so grateful for all of you. You are all so awesome! I have learned a lot lately that God's will will always be done. I gave a blessing to a sister in our district, Sister Ah-Fua, because she had some serious health issues that made it so it wasn't possible to go to Korea. So her companion came into they class crying and said "can you give my companion a blessing?" and she told us what was going on and then I asked Sister Ah-Fua if she wanted a blessing of comfort and counsel or a blessing for her health and she said for comfort and counsel and I asked who she wanted to say it and she said me so I said a little prayer before to have the spirit guide me in what to say. So I started the blessing and words just started coming to my mouth. I didn't even know what I was saying, but I had such a strong feeling of God's love for His children and His plan for them. He want's all of them to be happy. I mentioned that the Lord's will will always be done and that He would place her where He wanted her to be. Then, this week she was told that she could come with us to Korea!!! It was amazing. I know the power of the spirit through that experience. It truly is amazing to have that constantly with you. I will ALWAYS strive to have that with me wherever I am in my life. As the wise words of John Taylor "God's Kingdom or nothing!". I love you all and you are constantly in my prayers and thoughts. <3

DA FAM--NOV. 30, 2016
What up guyzzzzz. Only a week and a half left and I'm so stoked. So Thanksgiving. The dinner was pretty good (not as good
as yours mom) but ok. haha. And we did a service project and we made 309,000 meals for the hungry. It was so cool! And then we went and saw Neil L. Anderson speak and it was the best thing ever. It also dumped snow like crazy here and it's so fun!!!! I'm so stoked to be in snow. haha. But mom I don't really know what to do about the snow boots thing. I bet you I could snag some in Korea somewhere, but I'm not sure. I'll see what the other elders are doing. But yeah nothing much has gone on this week it's just the same MTC week. haha. Oh yeah we got to watch Ephraim's Rescue and that was really good. and the second meet the mormons and that was awesome too! But yeah me and elder lam are doin good. I'm stoked to be in the field though!!! So I just want to say as with every email that I know Christ lives, and that God knows our needs and wants and is actively in our life and guiding our steps without us knowing it. I'm so grateful for that knowledge and for a Shepherd that comes to His one lost sheep out of the ninety and nine that are safe. I'm grateful to have come back to my Heavenly Father and to stay with Him for the rest of my life on this earth. I love all of you!!!
Love - Elder Boren
