Oct. 26, 2016--MTC--What's Up Fam?

Sounds like eveybody is doing good so thats really good. <3 where to start... so the beginning of this week was kind of a bummer just cause i felt pretty inadequate and bummed that i couldn't learn the language faster. but as time went on and as i prayed for help i had a thought come to my mind and it said "you don't need to worry about anything. If the Lord wants you in Korea you can learn the language of those people. You just need to work as hard as you can and have faith." so thats exactly what i did. I have studied super hard (not just the language, the scrips too) and it's been really really good. Me and elder lam taught another mock investigator in Korean with no script this time to act in faith. and it went really good! Korean words would come to my mind that I didn't even remember i heard! it was awesome. Faith is definitely a pretty basic principle but it is SOOOOO HUGE. through faith you can have a knowledge of all the things of the church. Like the story of Enos how he grew up knowing the fullness of Christ's gospel from his parents and he wanted to know for himself that the gospel was true so he decided to go hunt for beasts one day and he "knelt before his maker" and cried unto him all day and even when the night came he continued to pray in faith until he finally received an answer and through his FAITH he was made whole. So yeah faith is a pretty big deal. but it has to be paired with works or else its dead. haha anyways. everything is going good and my comp and district are both awesome. so are my teachers sister (cha-me-nim) choi and brother (hyun-je-nim) watts. Watts hyun-je-nim was actually the mock investigator haha. but he acted so good like a real person that was interested in the church. He gave us questions and stuff and we tried to answer as much as we could with our limited but inspired language skills haha. but yeah everything is solid. I get homesick sometimes but it's not like I NEED TO GO HOME RIGHT NOW its just like yeah i miss home a lot but i know this is where i need to be. Seriously this is such a great opportunity to give all my time and efforts to the Lord and to help people come closer to Christ. anyways. I love you all and I'll email you next week! HEY! It's going amazing here! I'm getting the reading down and I'm starting to speak somewhat ok haha. But seriously the spirit here is so dense. especially in the general authority devotionals. elder bednar spoke on the character of Christ and it was seriously so good. It made me think of what I need to do to start acting and more importantly thinking like christ. he used the analogy of having christs mind the same as yours so when you swap them youre the exact same person as Him. but me and elder lam are doing great. i just take the weird things he does and take them as just normal things they do in china so I just brush it off but its really going so awesome! were homies. I've been working our SUPER hard here so that i dont gain weight haha. I'm the same so far so thats good. Seriously the mtc is basically just studying your flippin brains out 24/7. but it's good! never in my life will i ever get to be able to devote all of my time and efforts to the lord so imma make the most of it. but weve been trying to teach lessons in Korean to a korean actor and its freakin hard lemme tell ya. sometimes it's pretty hard wanting to deliver a message that will change a life forever but not being able to deliver it haha. but with faith and works i know it will come i feel it. I seriously know that this church is so true. nowhere else in the WORLD can you feel a feeling like the holy ghost. I LOVE IT. I'm addicted to that spirit feeling in me haha. It's seriously the best. I'm so grateful for it. I try to search for it all the time. I am so happy to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and to walk and teach on this earth for Him. as the blessing book says "how great is your calling!". I love you all and im thinking of your beautiful faces. haha. email you next week!

MTC WEEK 1

October 14, 1016-- MTC WEEK 1

Mom and Dad if you want to forward this to the fam and syd (sydthemonkey@gmail.com) haha that would be awesome. So the MTC is pretty SICK as elder Lam would say. He's from Hong Kong and he's so kind. So kind that it might even get on my nerves sometimes haha. But we're getting along awesome! Everybody is going through the same stuff and I can read korean already and it's pretty awesome! I'm getting better at speaking but it's pretty difficult. I have the occasional feeling and thoughts of homesickness but it's getting better as time goes on. I really have to focus on the fact that I'm doing the Lord's work and that He will help me in whatever way that I ask as long as I'm faithful. The Spirit is soooo strong here. All of the disciples of Christ everywhere and it's awesome!

So I'm not really sleeping that well. Probably just cause I'm so used to my giant queen bed but I'm sure that will get better as time goes on. OH MOM!! Thank you so much for those pictures and that picture of Christ. It reminds me of who I need to think of everytime I study my scriptures. I'm so grateful for you guys and I'm so grateful for all that you guys have helped me prepare for my mission. I have to go back to class and learn more Korean but I'll email again on Wednesday!!! 

Oh man story about Elder Lam. We were walking back to our residency and he was saying that not a lot of Hong Kong people go to Korea but he wasnt feeling well that day so I said well you must be pretty special if youre one of the few to go to Korea and he was like "yeah i guess. I think I am here to diahorhea." IT WAS SO FUNNY. I laughed so dang hard. anyways Love you all and thinking of you all as well.
